A relic of the past

A Relic at Palo Duro Canyon State Park

A photograph of a covered wagon sitting idle by the roadside. The covered wagon was a popular mode of transportation for the westward migration of the American west. Today, we found its relic idling by the roadside at Palo Duro Canyon State Park.

We were enjoying a day tour of Palo Duro Canyon State Park. It has been close to twenty years since the last time that we were at the park. The first time, we didn’t even appreciate the beauty of the land. What we saw was a hot and semi-arid part of Texas.

Today’s day tour was different. We know more about Texas and we can related the significance of this relic to its environment and its history.

  1. Beautiful photographs of this area of Mexico. I love visiting national parks. This one is new to me. Arid, desert terrain in the purest country western style. I’ll write it down in my travel notebook. 🙂
