It was back to Austin, Texas for nth time. We were excited to show the grounds of the State Capitol Texas to visitors from out of the country. It was their first time to be in Texas and it was only fitting to show them the vibrant city of Austin.
It was late spring. Somehow, the weather was feeling like mid-summer. The scorching sun was up and high in the sky. The canopy of “petals” provided the much-needed shade to cool down.
Tex-Mex food never tasted so great for the hungry traveling. We satisfied our hunger while cruising down Congress Avenue. Later that day, under the Congress Bridge, we were on a boat as we waited for the Mexican free-tailed bats to emerge for their nightly feeding flight. We saw people walking by the riverbank, scores of graffiti on bridges and buildings, and a spectacular sunset while we waited.

We’ve never been to Texas before, but it’s on our list. We probably would want to visit in the winter though as I don’t think we could handle the heat!
That’s a good decision. There are lots of parks here where you can hike and see sights.
