Kingston, Ontario is a small town at the northeastern side of Lake Ontario. It is located at the start of St. Lawrence river and at the mouth of the Cataraqui river.

We were back to pounding the city pavement. Gatineau park gave us a welcome respite from the city pavement but we had to continue our tour of Ontario. Today, we were visiting Kingston and Gananoque.

The main reason that we were in Kingston, Ontario was because we were going to tour the Thousand Islands. An archipelago of more than a thousand islands along the St. Lawrence river as it straddles the US-Canadian border.

We found at small shop in Kingston, Ontario that was selling fine foods and coffee. It was looking ordinary from the outside. Just one of the small shops lining the street. However, it was one of the listings in the app, GPSMyCity, in Kingston. We had just started using this app and it has helped us a lot navigate through city streets like a pro. This must be an interesting place.

Truly, it was interesting what we found inside the shop. Specialty foods, imported and locally sourced, were lining its shelves. What attracted our attention were the cheese selections, the variety of chocolates, and tea. We cannot buy all of the things that we wanted but we settled for a box of specialty tea.

The most striking feature of the shop was the smell of roasted coffee upon entering its doors. There was a small corner at the back of the shop that was lined with different kinds of ground coffee. Customers came in at regular intervals, not only to shop the specialty foods, but most especially to buy the coffee grounds.
