Alicante, Spain was our short bus stop on our way to Valencia, Spain. We just came from Granada, Spain. It was a much needed leg-stretching stop for the long trip.

The bus was rolling to a stop as we were waking up from our stupor. Our parking spot was right in front of a big Alicante landmark. It was easy locating our direction back to the pick up point. Our tour guide made the announcement, “The bus will be waiting here. You have one hour to walk around and have something to eat”, before letting us out of the bus.

We explored the surrounding area of the bus stop. A seaside walkway was just beyond our parking spot. Right across the seaside walkway, an open space that was looking like a big parking lot, was occupied by a lot of food stalls. It was the walkway first before the food stalls. Our legs were tight and stretching was needed.

We thought that exploring the city of Alicante can be an interesting activity. It wasn’t part of the tour though. We were just there for a mandatory bus stop. A little bit of research revealed some interesting facts about its history and development of Alicante, Spain.
We did check out the food stalls in the parking area. There was an ongoing competition for the best burger.
