Avenue Mohammed V was well lighted that night. The first of the sights in Morocco that we came to see. Majestic palm trees with a growth of caged ivy on its lower trunks were towering on both sides of the avenue. This made the whole scene, well, look majestic! The avenue was named after its past ruler, the grandfather of Morocco, Mohammed V.
We met our tour manager upon arriving at our hotel in Rabat. He was young and looked easy going for a tour manager. We even had the impression that he was just right out of college. Anyway, he made our transition from hotel lobby to room very easy. His work of nearly completing the paperwork before our arrival mattered a lot. We were up in our room in around 15 minutes.
We have learned that, after several tours with the same company, that the first activity was always a mandatory orientation meeting. It went extremely well. We learned more about our tour manager and we became acquainted with our fellow travelers.
The fine dinner made us go out and walk Avenue Mohammed V. That’s all we can say! It was nourishing!
There were a few other people walking along the avenue. The air was cool and slight. It was perfect!
