Breakneck stairs is the oldest stair structure in Canada. The flight of stairs was built in the 17th century to connect the upper town to the lower town of Old Quebec. The name breakneck stairs was only adopted at a later date due to its steepness.(Wikipedia)
It was interesting watching people go up and down the stairs. Some were practically running through it while some were almost crawling. We did neither but went through it carefully lest the knee or ankle weakness betray us.

The stairs allowed us to easily go to the upper town after strolling around Rue du Petit Champlain. The red door and window at the lower town was an interesting find. Insignificant by itself but interesting when one knows that it’s associated with a popular K-drama series.

Another lucky find was Umbrella Alley. An umbrella-adorned alley near the corner of Rue du Petit Champlain that was supposed to be present only during summertime. Somehow, we came at a time when it was still in full display.
