Dancing Houses Amsterdam

Dancing Houses of Amsterdam

The Dancing Houses of Amsterdam. A phenomenon brought about by the shifting of the houses’ foundation over the years. The gaps were filled in but the geometry of the houses has permanently been altered.

The dancing houses are canal houses in Amsterdam. It located along the riverbank of Amstel in Northern Holland.

The photograph was taken during our boat tour of the canals of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The river boat tour took us from Prinsengracht, near the Anne Frank Museum, to Amstel, Northern Holland, and then back.

It was interesting to watch the city’s movements and its people from a boat. The captain, resembling Thor with his tall build and long blonde hair, did a great job pointing out the highlights of the tour.
