Dancing Houses Amsterdam

Dancing Houses of Amsterdam

The Dancing Houses of Amsterdam. A phenomenon brought about by the shifting of the houses’ foundation over the years. The gaps were filled in but the geometry of the houses has permanently been altered.

The dancing houses are canal houses in Amsterdam. It located along the riverbank of Amstel in Northern Holland.

The photograph was taken during our boat tour of the canals of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The river boat tour took us from Prinsengracht, near the Anne Frank Museum, to Amstel, Northern Holland, and then back.

it was quite interesting watching the movements of the city and its people from the comfort of a boat seat. The boat captain, looking like Thor with his tall stature, wide body, and flowing blonde hair, did a splendid job of pointing out the interesting points along the boat tour.
