2022 was the year that we set foot in Amsterdam. We were finally in the capital city of The Netherlands in western Europe. The land that was made famous for its canals and the canal ring surrounding the city. Exploring Amsterdam’s canals and bridges was an expectation considering the presence of 165 canals and 1,200 bridges connecting the city together.
There were actually three things that we were looking forward to experiencing in Amsterdam. First, the vibe of the local population which would include the multitude of tourists visiting the city. Second, the canals and bridges which we think can only be experienced if we took a boat tour. Lastly, the world famous museums, like Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, holding the masterpieces of the Dutch art masters.
The photograph of the foot bridge showed us two things – the vibe of the locality and a foot bridge crossing a canal in Amsterdam.

Crazy to hear how many canals and bridges there are in Amsterdam. They apparently have more canals and bridges than Venice.
We haven’t thought about it. A quick search confirmed that, yes, Amsterdam has more canals and bridges than Venice! Thanks for pointing it out!
