Cambridge is a city fifty five miles north of London. It is home to the University of Cambridge. Historically, the city was an important trading post for the Romans and the Vikings. Academically, the University of Cambridge has consistently ranked as one of the top in the world showcasing the renowned Colleges of Cambridge.
Exploring a few Colleges at Cambridge
Exploring Cambridge meant also exploring some of its prestigious colleges. There are thirty one colleges in Cambridge. The ones that we ended up seeing were along Silver Street and King’s Parade. There were a lot more on the outskirts but it will take time walking to all of it. Time that we did not have at the moment. As such, we ended up appreciating the Colleges of Cambridge that we saw.

The Corpus Clock was attracting a lot of attention. Tourists were standing right in front of the clock with a mesmerized look on their faces. This is the gold-plated clock in perpetual motion with a locust crawling on its top. The clock adorns the front of the Corpus Christi College. Corpus Christi College was founded in 1352, one of the historical Colleges of Cambridge.

The front gate of St. Catharine’s College attracted my attention because of its pristine look. The college was founded in 1473 and is one of the colleges that can be seen at King’s Parade. This is one of the notable Colleges of Cambridge.

The facade of Gonville and Caius Collage was looking really attractive. It stands out among other surrounding structures with its Renaissance and Tudor Gothic design. The founding of the school came about in 1348. The facade, featuring the school’s coat of arms, representing another of the prestigious Colleges of Cambridge.

The Farewell Dinner at London
We left the campus after our brief exploration. London was our last stop before heading back home. There was a final dinner with our tour guide, David. A final goodbye to all the fellow travelers that we have come to know during the trip.
Until the next adventure!
We are looking forward to seeing more places and meeting more fellow travelers along the way.

The architecture of these colleges is so beautiful.
They really are beautiful! It would have been nice if we saw more of them.
