Travel pamphlets and brochures show it. The distant islands or the caldera provided the best background. Tourists gather on popular sites to witness the much-hyped event. This particular photograph showed an anchored boat on a calm morning sea.

This was just one of the scenes that we saw while we were in Santorini.
