The Sydney Central Station was our starting point for a trip to Katoomba. The main town in New South Wales that is home to the Blue Mountains National Park. The mountain range can be viewed from Katoomba. The famous rock formation, the Three Sisters, can be found there. One other activity in Katoomba is to visit the old mining site. Tourists visit this town often.
It took us a while to figure out the bus schedule to Katoomba. Eventually, we figured it out and were able to secure seats in a bus.

The view of the Blue Mountains from the viewing deck was expansive. It was sunny but the fresh mountain air was refreshing. It was quite crowded at the viewing deck. The Three Sisters rock formation can be seen on the left side of the viewing deck.
A paved trail at the side of the viewing deck guided us to the old mining site. Here, a bronze statue of a miner was dedicated to its past mining history. Rail carts, previously used to haul mining products up a slope, now ferry passenger up and down the same slope.

A cable car also connect one side of a steep cliff to the other side for a closer view of the Three Sisters.
The same route took us back to the central station. It was well worth the trip for the day.
