The walls of the vibrant districts of Fener and Balat in Istanbul are living canvases. It is alive with art forms that whisper of history and contemporary bursts of brilliant artistic murals. The weathered facades of historic buildings tell diverse stories. Some depict scenes of daily life. Others are abstract expressions which add splashes of modern flair to ancient streets. The murals not only beautify the neighborhood but also serve as powerful visual narratives.

We were walking around and saw all the artistic expressions. It reminded us of Austin, Texas and Melbourne, Australia. The art forms are expressions of the souls of the people living in the neighborhood.
