Shelter in place

I walked the streets and found it empty. For the discerning eye, the scene can be wary. People shelter in place for safety. The resulting isolation can test sanity.

The pulse struggle to tic. Faced with the odds of this disease. To avoid becoming a statistic. Shelter in place, please.

Night comes and darkness settles in. The fading color of the sky reflects on my face. The once bright sky begins to dim. It’s end of day and, yet, I still must shelter in place.
