St. Peter’s Cathedral was already in our minds the moment we settled in our hotel room. It was one Catholic church that existed in Rabat, Morocco and we had to see it. We were looking forward to seeing all the architectural designs of the mosques in Morocco. But, we also had to see the architecture of the one Catholic church that we knew existed here.
Our flight from Madrid, Spain landed at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, Morocco. The van driver was already waiting outside the airport’s arrival gate. Our tour included immediate transport to Rabat, Morocco, the country’s capital city, where the tour will officially start.

One of the things that interest us while traveling are the historical architectural designs of buildings. We are not architects but, somehow, the shapes of buildings and its history fascinate us.
St. Peter’s Cathedral was one church that we were interested in seeing. It is a Catholic church. We knew that we will be seeing a lot of architectural designs in Morocco. We were interested in seeing St. Peter’s Cathedral because it was supposed to have the Art Deco design.
Art Deco design was described as influenced by Paris, France. It was characterized as having bold geometric shapes of sunburst and zigzags, streamlined forms, and rich materials of wood, glass, and chrome.

Unfortunately, it was closed and we could not see the interior of the cathedral.

It’s too bad it was closed. But at least you got to see the exterior, which still looks nice.
We have to content ourselves with just seeing the exterior of churches. We feel bad but that’s the best of the situation.
