A night time landscape photograph of Sta. Maria del Fiore cathedral in Florence, Italy. The magnificent cathedral can be found at Piazza del Duomo, Florence, Italy.
We did a walking tour of Florence. Piazza del Duomo, where Sta. Maria del Fiore Cathedral was located, was the last place that we stopped. We stood facing a massive cathedral as we emerged from an alley. It was difficult to grasp a whole picture of the cathedral. Piazza del Duomo was closely enclosed by the surrounding buildings. The buildings were serving as its boundary. Our necks were straining from trying to look at the whole cathedral structure from both sides and from bottom to top. Our best course of action was to just walk around the whole cathedral and look at it from up close. Its exterior design was intricate and awe-inspiring!
We knew that there was a nearby hill with a panoramic view of the city and Sta. Maria del Fiore. The night was still young and we were feeling adventurous. It was quite a distance and an uphill climb but we made it to the top. The place was a piazzale and there was a bronze replica of Michaelangelo’s statue of David. From the ledge of the piazzale, we were able to sit and enjoy viewing a nightscape of the city of Florence and a grand view of Sta. Maria del Fiore.
Our night adventure was certainly exhausting. We rewarded ourselves with a taxi ride back to our hotel.

Wonderful architecture
It is. So intricately designed and massive that I spent a full 5 minutes, at least, just staring at it.
