We were introduced to the Fes old Medina labyrinthe by our local tour guide. The people living in the Medina began creating the passageways as the community was growing. It was morphing with the Medina’s way of life to become what it is today.

The labyrinthe didn’t follow a fixed pattern. Some were wide enough for a mule train to easily tread. Some were just wide enough for people to squeeze through.

Navigation looks like it would be impossible without a local guide!
Totally! We would have been lost at the first turn!
