The amazing person in front of the massive door of Hassan ll Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco gave context to the size of the door.
The massive door was one feature that we found outside the mosque. As mentioned, we opted to walk around instead of touring inside the mosque. We thought that we wanted to tour the mosque unhurriedly. The long wait outside with the midday crowd was just not convenient.
Accordingly, the massive size of the door, made of brass and titanium to prevent corrosion from the sea water of the Atlantic ocean, required an electrical mechanism to operate it.
We observed a funny thing about taking photographs. Find an amazing deserted or isolated spot to take a photograph. Soon, there will be a crowd or line of people trying to push you out of the way to take the same shot!
The orange-yellowish tinge of the afternoon sun did not do justice to whole scene. Bluish marble framed the massive door. The pattern design was geometric with colors of blue, green, orange, yellow, and brown. Tilework was done in zellige fashion. Everything was done in the Moorish North African pattern that has been the hallmark of Morocco.

The door looked small from a distance. It looked like a regular door. It was surprising to see the scale of its size once we were standing next to it!
