A waterscape photograph of gondolas anchored for the night by the Grand Canal of Venice, Italy.
The night was getting darker. Streets, that were earlier overflowing with pedestrians, were empty and quiet. We were among the few walking the empty streets. It was our first night in Venice.

It was a long flight from home to Italy. There several connecting flights and several delays before we set foot on the streets of Venice. The hotel was warm and cozy but we were too restless. We needed some limb stretching by walking. No, really, we were requiring some limb stretching.
It was on our way back to the hotel that we noticed the anchored gondolas. Quite different from seeing it while plying the waters of Grand Canal. We were thinking that the watercraft were looking classic and beautiful. Maybe, we will have a romantic ride in one of these gondolas. Just maybe.
The walk was satisfying! Stretching restored our blood circulation. We began observing several interesting sights during the walk. Interesting, like the anchored gondolas along Grand Canal. We will be taking a closer look at those sights next time. It was time to lay in bed and rest.

Beautiful shot!
Thank you!
Beautiful capture. We were just in Venice a few months ago. I loved seeing all the canals and beautiful bridges.
So many beautiful sites to see.
I would say that our visit to Venice was a cultural enlightenment. I saw and appreciated a lot of new things. I also learned a lot of things about Venice in particular and Italy in general.
Plus the food (and wine) are amazing!
