A Day of Walking Around Porto, Portugal

The meeting with our tour manager, Alexandre, a father of one with another one coming, a mild-mannered fellow with an expertise in judo, went very well. We were oriented to the overall plan for our travel tour. There was also an individual self-introduction for each participating member of the tour group. Overall, it was a very pleasant and friendly group. We felt blessed!

Our activities for our first day was a combination of a bus tour and a walking tour of Porto, Portugal. Our first stop was a coastal fort that was used to defend the Atlantic coast. We then moved on to view the grand interior of the Palacio da Bolsa. After that, it was crossing the Dom Luis I bridge to the other side of the Duoro river where we had some wine tasting.

We were left on our own to explore the southern banks of the Duoro river. There were so many shops and interesting places to check out that there was never a dull moment spent there. We were given the option to ride the tour bus back to the hotel or strike it on our own. We took the second option to further explore Porto.
