What’s the significance of the sand dunes of Costa Nova in Portugal? A cursory research revealed that the sand dunes is the result of shifting winds coming from the Atlantic Ocean. The sand dunes itself created an ecological system that protected the inland Ria de Aveiro lagoon. Furthermore, it helped create the current unique maritime heritage and architecture.
