The signs of Christianity in Cordoba can be seen through some of its old structures. Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos was located southwest from the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba. Like most structures in Cordoba, the alcazar was not an exclusive Christian structure. It was a military fortress that was occupied by the Romans, the Visigoths, the Moors, and then the Christians. The current edifice is a result of continuous construction over time.
It was in front of this edifice that I took the photograph of the perching pigeon.

We were in a hurry as there was very little time to explore the side of Christian Cordoba. The guided tour to the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba was about to start and we were given a few minutes to walk around the perimeter. We thought of exploring the Christian side of Cordoba. It will be a glimpse for us of the other side of Cordoba.
It was disappointing to find out that tickets were required for entry. There was a line of people purchasing tickets. There was no time to fall in line, buy a ticket, and be on time for the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba tour. We had to content ourselves with viewing the Courtyard of the Women from a distance. Definitely, we missed out on seeing the Hall of Mosaics, Courtyard of the Moriscos, the Reception Hall, and the Royal Baths of Doña Leonor.
The Jewish Quarter of Cordoba was right next to the alcazar. We quickly decided to skip the alcazar and head for the Jewish Quarter. There was little chance that we will be back in the future soon. We took the most of the opportunity to explore the Jewish Quarters instead.
