Camel Ride at Agafay Desert

The camel ride came right after the quad bike ride. We were still shaking the dust off our clothes when we were assigned to our camels.

They were dromedary camels. The kind of camels that had only one hump on their backs. The ones common in North Africa and Southwestern Asia. They were more slender and taller compared to the camels with two humps.,

It was fascinating to imagine how the handlers were able to hitch a saddle on the camel’s back. But, it was there and it wasn’t easy to sit on. Never mind the fact that the camels stood on their hind legs first followed by the front legs.

We were thankful that it was a short ride. Human walk pace and just around one small hill.

Random photographs of our travels. Memories found and captured in a photograph.
