Misty @Cotswold

Cotswold: Scenic Countryside Destination

Cotswold was misty that morning. The mist was making it look cold and damp. It was making it worse for the sleepy eyes. The primal urge then was to find a warm, soft bed to burrow into and disappear into a deep slumber. The cushioned seats of the tour bus wasn’t enough to make for a comfortable napping position.

Cotswold District, a government district in Gloucestershire, was around one hour drive from the hotel in Bath. It was up early and out of the hotel by eight in the morning. Not too early but early enough to feel sleep-deprived after a long day of exploring Bath and its activity. The ride was long enough to get some nap. It was also long enough to start feeling the urge for relief of the cramped position and for some coffee.

Huffkins Stow at the Market Square was the best option for some coffee. It was a charming place. The coffee and hot chocolate drink were excellent!

Two trees and a door at Cotswold
The Door to St. Edward’s Church

St. Edward’s Church was in a corner behind Huffkins Stow. A medieval church with a scenic setting. The church was closed but it was an opportunity to visit and take photographs.

The tour guide let us know about St. Edward’s Church. The church has two trees framing its doorway. It reminded him of Harry Potter. Mentioning Harry Potter during the tour was one expectation. It was a surprise that it was only on the fourth day of the tour that the famous Harry Potter was mentioned.

In less than an hour, it was back to the road again. The next stop will be Stratford-Upon-Avon.

  1. Beautiful shot of the door to St. Edward’s Church. I can see why it reminds you of Harry Potter. It looks enchanting and magical. I’m sure it felt amazing to stretch your legs after being on the tour bus!

    • We were like more than 1/2 of the tour. All the bus rides and walking was starting to take its toll. The leg stretch was definitely a welcome break.
