An introductory blog post of the traveling couple travel tour to the United Kingdom of Great Britain. The series consists of narrative blog posts and photographs of sights in the United Kingdom.
A Little Bit About The United Kingdom
The United Kingdom of Great Britain is a nation composed of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It is an island nation located in northwestern Europe. A nation of countries within a country. It is a nation that has been continuously inhabited since the Neolithic times (12,000 years ago).
The Purpose of the Travel Tour
The travel tour to the United Kingdom will be coinciding with a birthday celebration, a cooler weather, and cheaper off-season travel expenses. It will also be confined to a period of only ten days due to limitations of allowable days off from work.

The First Two Days
Two days in London will seem like a long time. However, there is the anticipation that there will be so much to see. Two days will not be enough.
The plane will be arriving early at London Heathrow Airport. Luggages will have to be stored at the hotel concierge. It will still be too early to check in. A self-guided exploratory tour around London and its vicinity will be the best option while waiting. Besides, the meeting with the tour manager will not be until early in the evening.
The second day will be a guided travel tour with a local guide. This will be less tiring since the tour will be by bus through parts of London and its vicinity.

The Third Day
The tour bus ride will be three hours long to get to the City of Bath. There will be stops along the way for nourishment and comfort. A significant stop will be to see Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The City of Bath and Stonehenge will both be self-guided and time-limited travel tours.

The Fourth Day
The tour bus will be traveling close to five hours to arrive at Liverpool. Stops will be at Cotswold and Stratford-Upon-Avon. There will be some time to walk around Cotswold and Stratford-Upon-Avon. It will be more significant at Stratford-Upon-Avon since it is the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Liverpool will even be bigger since this place was where the Beatles started their career.

The Sixth Day
Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It will be another long day of sitting on the tour bus traveling from Liverpool to Edinburgh. Stops along the way will be to admire the shoreline of the Lake District of Windermere and visit the charming village of Grasmere, Ambleside. Grasmere was home to 19th century poet William Wordsworth.

The Seventh Day
There will be a walking travel tour through the more popular parts of Edinburgh. This will be a general orientation of the city. Interesting places, like the Royal Castle, Royal Palace, Royal Mile, Princes Street, and Scottish Parliament, will also be pointed out for self-guided explorations.

The Eight Day
This will be the part of the travel tour that starts heading back to London. York will be our destination for the eight day. It is essentially an overnight stay on the way back to London. However, we will have a chance to explore the city on our own in the evening.

The Ninth Day
Cambridge will be the last stop before arriving back to London. Our tour guide will be conducting a limited walking tour before letting us go on our self-guided tour through the prestigious university campus. Upon arrival to our hotel in London, there will be enough time to freshen up at the hotel before the farewell dinner with the tour group.
The Tenth Day
It will be back to London Heathrow Airport for the flight back home.

Travelling is always a great way to celebrate a birthday. We visited London over a decade ago and didn’t have enough time to see more of the UK. Looking forward to hearing about your upcoming trip. Safe travels. Sounds like a great itinerary.
Thanks! We are looking forward to our travel to London. We know that we couldn’t cover all of the great sights but we will try.
