There were several Galveston seawall piers. This one was the closest as we were driving east from Galveston Island State Park. We thought that this was for fishing since it looked deserted. Not like Pleasure Pier farther east of the seawall that has a lot people walking around.

Did you know that Galveston was a very progressive town until the development of Houston overshadowed it? It was a leader in development until competition and natural disasters, just to name a few, started pulling it back.
