The Girl With A Dolphin sculture and fountain was a good place to hang around while viewing the Tower Bridge. The statue and the bridge are prominent landmarks near the Tower of London.
The Girl With A Dolphin sculpture was created by David Wynne in 1973. It attracted our attention as we were disembarking from our taxi in front of the hotel. It prompted a little bit of research on our mobile phones since we didn’t know anything about the sculpture. We were expecting to see the Tower Bridge but not The Girl With A Dolphin next to it.
We were somehow feeling though that the sculpture was being overshadowed by the towering bridge right next to it. The photograph of the Tower Bridge didn’t seem right without the Girl With A Dolphin sculpture as its foreground.
It was on to crossing the Tower Bridge together with a hundred other people. Tourists were on all points of the bridge – walking, stopping to observe the bridge, taking photographs, or watching the River Thames from the bridge. It was our first day in London.
We returned later that night to view a well-lighted bridge. At 8:15, a crossing of a tall ship required the bridge to be raised. It was not something that one can see everyday. Quite spectacular!
The images can be printed as wall or desk decorations or on accessories.

Beautiful capture! I bet it’s also beautiful at night when it’s all illuminated. How fun to see it open to let a tall ship through.
I tried to post a video of the bridge raising but I couldn’t figure out how to do it. I’ll try to figure it out and update later.
Good luck. I haven’t experimented with the video function on WP yet.
