Trail 36 is part of the Trans-Canada Trail. We went hiking Trail 36 because we were trying to get to the Carbide Willson ruins. A historical ruin located in the deeper part of Gatineau Park.
Today was our respite from walking the pavements of Montréal and Ottawa.
Our trail hike started at the P11 parking lot (45.52728929280844, -75.86444363134528). It was a relatively easy, well-maintained gravel trail. The trail initially followed a parallel paved road but gradually diverged deeper into the woods. Despite the heavy foliage, the trail was wide enough for a one or even two way traffic. The heavy foliage also provided shade from the sun.

We reached the Carbide Willson ruin after a two kilometer hike. We met a few hikers along the way and none of them looked winded. So, we thought, we should be fine on this hike! We also enjoyed views of the trail and the lake.

Sounds like a pleasant and scenic trail. Love the reflection of the trees in the water.
It was pleasant and scenic. It also turned out to be refreshing to walk the trail instead of the pavement in the city. A great change in scenery!
