Mary, Queen of the World Basilica was our first stop in Montréal. We were embarking on our first travel for the unofficial Fall season. Officially, it is still summer and the summer flowers are still in full bloom.

There was no time to waste. Family was waiting for us outside of Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL). Hugs and kisses were the first order of the day. The chatter and updates then began. Meanwhile, the navigator was set for the Old Port area of Montréal.

How lucky can we be to have a basilica as our first stop. To top it off, there was even a wedding in progress. We gingerly made our way in, said our prayers, and took our photographs.

The basilica is officially known as Mary, Queen of the World and St. James the Great Cathedral. It is a minor basilica in Montréal, Quebec, Canada and the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Montréal.

We’ve passed by Mary, Queen of the World Basilica but have never actually gone inside. Looks beautiful.
It is beautiful inside. It made me think that I was back in France.
