The Ring – Montréal

The Ring is a gigantic sculpture that we found while walking along Place Ville Marie. It was just a little past one block northeast from Mary, Queen of the World Basilica. Its size was really hard to miss. The sculpture, representing the connection between different sectors of life in Montréal, was designed by Claude Cormier and associates.

The Ring

The perspective of The Ring was quite interesting from where we were viewing it. It was looking like it was floating and, at the same time, looked like it was anchored to the surfaces surrounding it. The view also was contrasting between the reflective foreground surface and the green, hilly background.

Beneath the reflective foreground surface is a food court. It was an excellent place for a quick break of rest and a few bites of freshly-baked thin crust pepperoni pizza.
