Notre Dame Basilica Ottawa was the best place to be on a Sunday morning. We spent the whole day in Montréal yesterday. Our last stop was also a basilica with a wonderful sunset view before we went ‘home’ to Gatineau. It so happened that Gatineau was just a stone-throw’s distance away from Ottawa and only a 10-minute drive away from the basilica.
Notre Dame Basilica Ottawa was the most beautiful basilica that we have seen. Our eureka moment made us understand the hype about Notre Dame basilica’s magnificence. Its opulence and adornment were mesmerizing.

We’ve passed by the Notre Dame Basilica in Ottawa several times. I’m puzzled why we never thought to ever go inside. It looks beautiful!
Visit it one day. Especially in between mass schedules or during the middle of the week when there are fewer people in the church. You’ll be able to sit in one of the pews and appreciate it quietly.
