Piccadilly Square was very lively and noisy. Leicester Square was busy but subdued. These were the two squares that we were walking by before reaching Notre Dame de France Catholic Church at Leicester Place in London, UK.

London was a layover on the way back home. We had eighteen hours to spare. Our hotel was quite close to Heathrow airport. Even closer to the Charing train line that goes directly under Piccadilly Square. The front desk lady at the hotel was very helpful at pointing us to the right direction of the train station. It was just a ten-minute walk away.

Notre Dame de France Catholic Church was solemn. There were a few people inside the church at the time of our visit. It was a lucky break that we were able to enter before the caretaker closed the front door for the day.

It was a different kind of Notre Dame. Simple yet elegant. We saw the opulence of the Notre Dame churches in Canada. We saw the stained glass of the Notre Dame church in Casablanca, Morocco. The main feature that caught our attention was the tapestry of the blessed Virgin Mary as the Queen of Creation. The unique features of the different Notre Dame churches made us want to see more Notre Dame Churches. We hope to go back to Paris, France to see the Notre Dame church there.
