Notre Dame de Lourdes Cathedral

Notre Dame de Lourdes Cathedral was the only Catholic church that we visited in Casablanca, Morocco. We searched and found a listing of four Catholic churches. Technically, the listing was five but the Casablanca Cathedral was deconsecrated in the 1970s and now serves as a cultural and exhibition center.

What was remarkable about Notre Dame de Lourdes was its outside modernist architectural design and its decorative stained glass covering the nave. The workmanship of the religious scenes depicted on the stained glass were outstanding.

We have to confess that our expectation for Notre Dame de Lourdes relied upon our experience with the Notre Dame churches in Canada. It was not as opulent. Still, it was a good experience to visit, see, and compare the different Notre Dame churches.
