Panoramic Views of Athens’ Acropolis

It would have been a great panoramic photograph of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece were it not for the haze that’s shrouding the surrounding urban landscape. Unmistakable UNESCO World Heritage structures, like the Parthenon and the Erechtheion, stand prominently on top of the rocky limestone citadel.

We were at Acropolis’ gate before the break of dawn. The tour guide wanted it that way to beat the thousands of other visitors for the day. Yet, we came through the gate with a crowd and not just by ourselves.

The panoramic view was from Lycabettus Hill.
