We woke in the morning with a distressing announcement of a river cruise hiccup. After Melk, our cruise was halted during the night due to a malfunction in one of the river locks. Around three river boats were anchored side by side and unable to move forward.
Passau, Germany was our intended destination for the day. The original plan was for us to stay in Passau to do a self-guided walk.
Our cruise director’s solution was to drive us by bus to Passau. There were two groups. The first one was us and we were going on a guided walking tour of Passau. The second group signed up for a guided walking tour of Salzburg. Both groups were to eventually meet back in Linz, Austria to continue with the cruise. It was quite an adventure considering that we were criss-crossing the boundary of Austria and Germany.
Our next problem was the weather. We woke up to a cold, rainy morning! It was the projected weather for the whole day!

Ugh. Hope it all worked out okay in the end. Rainy weather is never fun.
