Stratford-Upon-Avon: William Shakespeare’s Birth and Burial Place

Stratford-Upon-Avon was our next destination. A town that is sitting on the outer edge of the Cotswold. Riding the tour bus will take us to Stratford-Upon-Avon in another hour. It is an important town in between major centers. It is around 90 mile north-west of London, 20 miles south-west of Birmingham, and 8 miles south-west of Warwick.

Perhaps, Stratford-Upon-Avon is more famous because of William Shakespeare. Tourism is one of its major source of income. The statue of William Shakespeare can be found standing in the middle of Henley Street. A reminder to everybody of his important contribution to literature and to the town itself.

The town is also known as a Market Town. Thus, from the top of Henley Street and all the way down to Clopton Bridge, there were shops doing brisk business. Henley Street was feeling like Main Street.

There were a lot to see while walking along the riverbank of Avon. It was bustling with activity! Just sitting on one of the park benches provides a lot of activity to follow. There were small boats plying the river, people walking by the riverbank, and swimming geese and swans. It was entertaining just doing nothing except watch.

Just like that, we watched, learned, appreciated Stratford-Upon-Avon, and moved on to our next destination. Liverpool will be next.
