The sardines actually came from the table next to us. Our travel companions had ordered way too much food and generously shared some with us. The presentation was unique and unlike anything we’d seen before.
Deciding whether to eat lunch was surprisingly difficult. Ever since the tour began, we’d been eating nonstop and were already full to the brim. For the sake of our health, we knew it was time to rein in our appetite. It was much easier said than done.
We were craving a taste of Portuguese cuisine. Browsing the menu didn’t help—everything looked amazing. We even worked up the courage to ask the diners at the next table what they were having. Luckily, they were happy to share, so thank you, Dutch diners!
In the end, we decided to share a plate of Dobrada, a Portuguese tripe and bean stew that tasted uncannily like the version we make back home.

That would make one heck of an interesting table presentation, George.
