Interesting. What one would expect at the Basilica de la Familia, by far my favorite cathedral!
Basilica de la Sagrada Familia is magnificent! One thing though was the number of people inside and outside the basilica. We were there for two consecutive days and it was always full.
The number of tourists in Barcelona is close to reaching a critical mass. No wonder the community is working to limit their numbers. It’s a world-wide problem in the really popular places. We ran into plenty this summer, especially at sites like the Acropolis and Edinburg Castle. Of course we were adding to the problem…
Exactly my thoughts. We wanted to see the world but came to realize that we were part of the problem.
It’s a tough one for sure. We tend to travel off-season and visit areas that are less popular. It tends to help both the economy and us, but still… This summer we were committed to taking our grandsons with us and summer was the only time they could travel.
