The Parliament Building of Rabat was sitting halfway down Avenue Mohammed V as we were walking in a northwest direction. It was hard to miss.
A tall metal fence with solid concrete posts was surrounding it. Inside the fence was a manicured lawn with several of Morocco’s flag swaying gently in the evening breeze. Floodlights were accentuating the red-colored, rectangular shaped building. Guards were standing at several locations in front of the building. The parliament building was impressive!
We decided to walk farther northwest. First, it was refreshing to stretch our legs and burn some calories from dinner. Second, we saw bright colorful lights at a distance. We were feeling The lights attracting us like moths.
It turned out that the bright colorful lights were coming from the Medina ( Medina – a historic, walled, and often pedestrian-only ancient city center. In some places, simply, it is the city). The avenue was becoming busier as we were getting closer to the Medina. We didn’t expect it to be that busy late in the night. Certainly, it was alive and in full swing! We headed back to the hotel as we were not ready to lose our way in the maze of the Medina.
Random photographs of our travels. Memories found and captured in a photograph.

The parliament building does look impressive. Do they offer tours?
Unfortunately, no. It’s one of the government office buildings that’s off limits to the public.
