A panoramic view of the city to Toledo, Spain showing the Alcazar de Toledo at the highest point. The alcazar is a historic stone fortress that continues to dominate the skyline of the city.
It was historically built as a Roman palace in the 3rd century. Later, it was turned into a fortress by the ruling Caliph in the 10th century. It played a significant role during the Spanish Civil War. After the war, it was restored and now serves as a military museum overlooking the densely packed historic old town.
Our tour manager made it a point to have the bus driver stop at an overlook. He had all of us get off the bus to view the spectacular landscape of the city. He knew his stuff. This was the best spot for a panoramic view of the city.
