The first reaction was to step back to appreciate the scale and magnitude of the Bab Agnaou doors. There were a lot of small and intricate details present. The shape, geometry, design, and its age were there waiting for a closer scrutiny.

The wood was weathered, cracked, stained, and showing much of its grain. It looked compact and solid. The metal clasps were looking embedded to the wood as if stamped into place. Its metal was rusty and rough. Age was showing. So, too, was its toughness and resilience!
The doors of Bab Agnaou were open and pushed to the sides. They looked like open arms asking everybody to enter its folds. We went through the doors and felt like walking into another world. Well, it was another world. Another world that we were not familiar with but was eagerly being devoured by our curiosity. We only read about everything that we were seeing like a fairytale. Now, we were in the midst of the fairytale!
