Stonehenge is a prehistoric British cultural icon. It is a megalith that is located around 88 miles west of London. A prominent structure in the middle of an open rolling plain.

Its origin and function are unknown. Several studies had been done to the structure as well as the surrounding area. Nobody has conclusively figured out who started erecting the structure and what was its purpose. This tourist attraction was different from the attractions in London.

The tour bus from London took more than two hours of driving before arriving at a parking lot away from Stonehenge. There was no parking allowed close to the megalith. So many vandalism has happened to the megalith that all measures are being taken to protect it from further damage.

A walking path starting from the parking area leads toward the megalith. There were two options of either listening to a pre-recorded mobile application guide or just read the signage along the way while walking. The best way was to walk in a clockwise fashion.

A steady stream of tourists came and went. Each one was curious and learned something about Stonehenge. In an hour, we too left the Stonehenge and moved northward to the city of Bath.
