The Atlantic Ocean-Mediterranean Sea Divide

It was a curious feeling to be standing at the edge of an overlook. We were gazing out to a big expanse of water. All the time trying to figure out what we were supposed to be seeing.

A wooden signpost pointing in different directions with inscriptions in Arabic and French indicating 'Mediterranean Sea' and 'Atlantic Ocean', set against a coastal backdrop.

The signage pointed to the Atlantic Ocean in one direction. The Mediterranean Sea in the other direction. We were slightly confused. Does it mean that the water do not mix? Was the water not one and the same?

A large group of people gathered at a viewpoint overlooking the ocean, with a wooden signpost indicating different directions. The sky is clear and blue.

These tourists didn’t seem to mind. They were just too happy the experience the joy of posing under the signage. Confession: we did the same thing!

A crowded outdoor market area with people gathered around, featuring a black cat sitting on a stone pavement, with the ocean and a monument visible in the background.

This cool cat didn’t seem to mind too. It was probably thinking, “Oh, what the heck! No treats for me?”.

Random photographs of our travels. Memories found and captured in a photograph.

    • The view was definitely beautiful. A vast and serene ocean view. The confluence of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, we thought, was hyped. Still, we blame ourselves. We were thinking more of internet photographs showing light brown sea water separated from dark blue sea water. But it was fun though posing for photographs!
